Ismael Ruiz Hernandez, known as Maelo Ruiz, was born on October 22, 1966 in New York.
Born in the USA but at 4 years of age moved with his family to Puerto Rico where they were originally from. Start his career in music very young at the age of 16 when he started to sing in the "Escuela Libre de Música de Caguas." Despite this actually begins his career in music at the age of 19 when beginning their internationalization was the first voice of Pedro Conga Y su Orquestra Internacional to which he belonged 7 years and 4 productions recorded with Pedro Conga. The hits "No Te Quites La Ropa" surpassed sales of 50,000 units earned their first gold in Puerto Rico, Atrévete, Vicio (Gold Disc in Colombia), Quiero Volver, Si Supieras, Te Quiero Amor and Me Niegas Tanto Amor were extremely successful and were released by Maelo Ruiz in Latin America.
